The Anderson Power Products Saf-D-Grid connector system, introduced in January 2009, provides safe appliance power connections for DC electronic devices in 380-400 VDC power distribution systems, including server, telecommunication, and other devices up to 600 VDC. Building on the proven contact technology of SB and Powerpole connectors, Saf-D-Grid offers features essential for DC micro-grids powered by renewable energy or high-efficiency DC sources. It meets international safety requirements like UL 950 and IEC 60950, and is size-compatible with the IEC 320 C13 and C14 AC connection system. Notably, it is the only connector system of its size UL rated for disconnecting a 400 VDC, 20 amp load, and enables greater power density by supporting up to 40A and 600V DC or AC within the same footprint as the IEC 320 C13 & C14 system limited to 10A and 250 VAC. This makes it suitable for AC systems requiring increased wattage capability in existing connector spaces.
