Product Overview

The Millipacs 2mm Hard Metric (HM) interconnection system offers a modular, board-to-board or cable-to-board solution designed in accordance with IEC 917, IEC 61076-4-101, and Telcordia GR-1217-CORE standards. As a popular backplane connector system, Millipacs provides cost-effectiveness, user flexibility, standardization, and broad availability, making it suitable for chassis-based packaging in communications, data, medical, and industrial & instrumentation segments. Vertical receptacle modules, when mated with standard straight headers, are ideal for parallel board-to-board applications. They can also be used in backplanes, mated with right-angle headers on daughter cards. Key benefits include adequate spacing for PCB trace routing, optimization of board layers, and reduced PCB real estate compared to 2.54mm systems. The modular and scalable design, along with a one-piece receptacle housing, offers multipurpose centers for polarization and coding, location pegs, and robust construction for easy guiding and visual identification, preventing wrong mating. Customized loading patterns and cost-effective solutions for product extensions are also available.
