Product Overview

The Millipacs 2mm Hard Metric Series - Right Angle Receptacle Connectors are a modular, board-to-board interconnection system designed in accordance with IEC 917, IEC61076-4-101, and Telcordia GR-1217-CORE standards. This popular backplane connector system offers cost-effectiveness, user flexibility, standardization, and broad availability. Millipacs is extensively used in chassis-based packaging for the Communications, Data, Energy, Medical, and Industrial & Instrumentation segments. The series offers standard signal modules with 5 and 8 rows, supporting up to 125 and 200 signal contacts per 50mm length, respectively. Hybrid modules are also available, incorporating signal pins, power, and coaxial contacts. These right-angle receptacles mate with vertical and right-angle headers, providing adequate spacing for PCB trace routing, optimizing board layers, and reducing PCB real estate compared to 2.54mm pitch connectors. Key features include a 2-beam tulip contact for equalized signal path and reliability, a multipurpose center for coding and guiding, and stamped contacts for accurate true position and improved creepage distance. Hybrid connectors enable versatile circuit design with data rates of up to 3Gb/s, and optional shielding is available.
