Mill-Max introduces new additions to its Omniball spring-loaded contact product line, featuring solder tail and solder cup versions to accommodate diverse termination needs. The innovative Omniball contact (patent pending) utilizes a rolling ball interface, allowing for lateral, rotational, and angular alignment of mating components while ensuring exceptional electrical, mechanical, and structural reliability. These new offerings expand upon the original surface mount style, now including through-hole mount and solder-cup termination options. Omniball contacts replace the traditional plunger with a gold-plated brass ball, designed for applications involving sliding or rotational motion rather than axial engagement. This design alleviates common issues like binding, premature wear, and structural failure associated with conventional plunger-style pins in such scenarios. The rolling action of the ball ensures consistent electrical contact as components slide parallel to each other.
