The TE Connectivity DEUTSCH 983 series connector, developed in the 1990s, is engineered for demanding aerospace and military applications in harsh environments, particularly in aircraft zones such as engines and boosters. It offers two primary versions: a stainless steel variant for critical areas like engines, landing gears, and wings, and an aluminum version for cargo compartments. Qualified to EN2997, ESC10, and BACC63 specifications, the 983 series is fully intermateable with MIL-DTL-83723 Series III connectors and features enhancements such as shell-to-shell metal bottoming, an anti-rotation system, and a self-locking mechanism.
