These cages are compatible with SFP+ interfaces and mechanically with SFP, offering various configurations to accommodate different board thicknesses and assembly processes. Features include 360 gaskets, spring fingers, and multiple ground pin locations for enhanced EMI shielding, belly-to-belly mounting for efficient PCB real estate utilization, and improved thermal management with optional heat sinks. Light pipes are available for visual link status indication. Press-fit mounting options eliminate the need for soldering, reducing applied costs and avoiding solder-related issues. Compliant with industry standards SFF-8432, SFF-8083, and SFF-8431, these cages are suitable for networked storage systems, servers, telecommunications, switches, routers, network interface cards (NICs), and data center networking.
