Termination of plastic fiber optic cable involves using wire strippers, cutters, and a crimping tool. A polishing kit (AFBR-4594Z) is required for finishing. Key steps include separating duplex channels, stripping the outer jacket, placing the crimp ring and connector over the cable end, crimping the ring, and polishing the fiber end. For enhanced durability in extreme temperature conditions, RTV adhesive can be used. Simplex connectors are color-coded (gray for transmitter, blue for receiver) for identification. Crimp rings are specific to simplex or duplex connectors.
