Product Overview
The Kycon SMPX Series Surface Mount PLCC Socket is designed for electronic PC boards requiring a socket with the same footprints as common Plastic Leaded Chip Carriers. It accepts molded plastic chip carriers conforming to JEDEC specifications MO-047 for square and MO-052 for rectangular configurations. Featuring visual and mechanical polarization for secure PXLCC insertion, an open frame design for easy contact inspection and repair, and compatibility with high-temperature SMT soldering up to 230 C, this socket offers a low profile with less than .2 mated height. Optional PCB polarizing pegs and extraction tool slots are available. The open-top design promotes cooler running of the chip carrier, and the socket is compatible with automatic insertion machines. It is CSA/NRTL Certified.
