Product Overview

The Kycon SMPX Series Surface Mount PLCC Socket is designed for electronic PC boards requiring a socket compatible with the footprints of common Plastic Leaded Chip Carriers. These sockets accept molded Plastic Chip Carriers conforming to JEDEC Specifications MO-047 for Square and MO-052 for Rectangular configurations. Featuring visual and mechanical polarization for PXLCC insertion, an open frame design for ease of contact inspection and repair, and suitability for high-temperature SMT soldering up to 230 C, the SMPX series offers a low-profile solution with less than .2 mated height. Optional PCB polarizing pegs are available, and the open-top design promotes cooler running chip carriers. These sockets are compatible with automatic insertion machines and are CSA/NRTL Certified.
