Safety Precautions
Precautions for Safe Use:
- Do not drop the Terminal Block; functionality may be inhibited.
- Do not exceed the rated voltage or current; this may damage or burn out the Terminal Block.
- Mount Terminal Blocks on a DIN Track and secure both ends with Stoppers.
- Avoid use in locations with toxic gases (H2S, SO2, NH3, HNO3, Cl2), high temperature, or high humidity, as this can cause contact failure or corrosion.
- Do not use or store the Terminal Block in locations subject to severe temperature changes, high humidity, condensation, severe vibration or shock, direct sunlight, or sea breeze.
- Do not wire anything to the release holes.
- When inserting or removing a screwdriver from the release hole, do not tilt or twist it, and do not let it fall out. Insert at an angle (10-15).
- Do not bend wires beyond their natural radius or pull with excessive force to prevent wire disconnection.
- Do not insert more than one wire into each terminal insertion hole.
- When mounting multiple Terminal Blocks, ensure conductive parts of adjacent blocks face the same direction to prevent short circuits.
- Always turn OFF the power supply before wiring to prevent electrical shock.
- Always mount End Covers on the exposed metal surface of the last Terminal Block or any Terminal Block adjacent to a different shape of Terminal Block to prevent electric shock.
Precautions for Correct Use:
- When wiring, do not subject the Terminal Block or wires to stress. Secure wires to prevent resonance with facility vibrations.
- When connecting wires, insert solid wires or ferrules straight into the terminal block until they strike the end.
- For stranded wires, insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the release hole at an angle (10-15), insert the wire into the terminal hole, and then remove the screwdriver.
- After insertion, gently pull the wire to ensure it is securely fastened.
- To remove wires (stranded, solid, or ferrules), insert a flat-blade screwdriver into the release hole at an angle, remove the wire, and then remove the screwdriver.
- Confirm wire ratings and use appropriate wiring materials to prevent smoking or ignition.
- When using ferrules, ensure the outer diameter of the wire is smaller than the inner diameter of the ferrule's insulation sleeve and that ferrule processing dimensions conform to specifications.
- Note that for 1.0 mm wires with ferrules, part of the conductor may be visible after insertion, but insulation distance is still satisfied.
- Two-tier Terminal Blocks with a 3.5 mm width do not have a place to mount top-surface labels.

- XW5T-P1.5 / XW5G-P1.5: 8 mm
- XW5T-P2.5 / XW5G-P2.5: 10 mm
- XW5T-P4.0 / XW5G-P4.0: 12 mm
Recommended Ferrules and Crimp Tools: Refer to the detailed tables in the original document for specific ferrule types, conductor lengths, and recommended crimp tools from various manufacturers (Phoenix Contact, Weidmuller, Wago).
Recommended Flat-blade Screwdriver: Wera ESD 0,402,5 (or equivalent: SZS 0,42,5, SZF 0-0,42,5, etc.)
Mounting to DIN Track: Press the Terminal Block against the DIN Track.
Removing from DIN Track: Catch the tip of a screwdriver in the hook, move it in direction (1), and remove the Terminal Block in direction (2).
Short Bars Mounting: Insert into Short Bar holes and press fully. Can be bent and cut.
Labels Mounting: Remove one at a time and insert onto Terminal Blocks (top or side surfaces). Note specific limitations for two-tier blocks.
End Cover Mounting: Attach to exposed metal surfaces of the last or adjacent Terminal Block.
Separator Plate Mounting: Tighten the screw in the middle of the top surface with a flat-blade screwdriver.
